Women in the Outdoors - Growing by the numbers
In recent years, the number of American women who hunt has surged by 25 percent after holding steady for over a decade. More women are hitting the tree stand and duck blinds to put fresh meat on the table. And more women than ever are becoming fresh and saltwater anglers.
Within the last 5 years, annual numbers for women who participate in hunting, fishing and wildlife activities has continued to climb, according to reports from US Department of Interior.
According to Census Bureau statistics cited by National Geographic, men still make up the majority of the 15 million hunters, but women are gaining ground.
Marketers, industry manufacturers, retailers and the media are flocking to this ever growing and changing demographic.
DIVA WOW is meeting the demand for novice hunters, anglers and shooters by providing educational opportunities across the United States, and offering introductory clinics and classes that are dialed in specifically for women.
If you have a story idea, or would like to know more about women in the hunting and shooting market, Judy Rhodes, the DIVA WOW founder, is available for interview. Contact Judy directly to make an appointment.
