Gulf Coast DIVAs Edible Plant Walk

Come help the Gulf Coast DIVAs discover the natural abundance which surrounds us.  Join in a walk to find wild, edible plants in May Day Park.  These tasty treats are very abundant in the Spring and we will be sampling several.  Participants will also make their own butter and tea from local, wild, edible plants during this adventure.  Upon completion of the walk, members will enjoy a seasonal salad and snacks made from plants harvested during the evening, as well as other fresh favorites, while enjoying the gorgeous South Alabama sunset.

This adventurous evening is led by Brinkley Hutchings, trained naturalist and founder of Nature Connect. Brinkley has a degree in environmental science and studies local plants and animals weekly with students and peers.  Therefore, she is a “seasoned” professional regarding local, edible, plants.

Cost:      $20 for DIVA Members

               $25 for non-members

ALL THE INFORMATION

*     Limited to 15 Participants.

*     DIVAs, Friends & Family are invited.

*     Registration closes 04/16/2019.

*     Field guides will be provided.  However, you are welcome bring to a  

      journal or any field guides you might want to use.

*     Comfortable clothing and closed toes shoes are suggested. 

*     This is a casual walk to the Bay and back.  However, we will be      

      walking in the woods.

*     Bring your choice of insect repellent.

*     Bottled water is provided.

*     If you are a DIVA WOW Member, please wear your name badge.

*     An email will be sent, 2-3 days prior to the event, to those 

      registered, with additional details.

*     No refunds.
